EUROPLAST upholds commitment, honesty and ethics as part of its business philosophy. Based on the anti-corruption guidelines established within the company, it encourages its employees to set an example through their conduct in any dealing or negotiation on the company’s behalf.
To prevent, detect and investigate acts of corruption in any of their forms, EUROPLAST sets out this Anti-Corruption Policy, which applies to all employees at every level of the organization.
The Code of Ethics states that “under no circumstances is the practice of bribery and/or extortion permitted”; therefore, everyone who works in and for the company must comply with the following guidelines:
- Comply with current legislation.
- Giving and/or receiving any kind of economic or material incentive intended to give and/or obtain an undue advantage in the business relationship between EUROPLAST and its customers or suppliers, or with authorities, companies, contacts, organizations and institutions, is prohibited.
- Giving and/or receiving any improper or dishonest payment, contrary to law or to good practice, in order to gain influence in starting or keeping a business relationship is prohibited.
- In accordance with applicable law, giving bribes, incentives, payments, gifts or entertainment, directly or indirectly, to government officials, contacts, companies, suppliers, customers, organizations or institutions in order to improperly influence or reward an act or decision for the company’s benefit is prohibited.
- All financial transactions must be recorded and made available for review by the Audit Department.
- All employees must conduct their business activities under the principles of honesty and ethics.
- Comply with current tax and legal legislation. Pay all levies, taxes and withholdings.
- Abide by national tax and legal provisions, including those that prohibit deducting bribe payments from taxable income.
- Promote practices that fight and prevent corruption in order to foster sound and competitive investments and business relationships.
- Charitable donations and sponsorships must be transparent and comply with applicable law.
- Do not make political or charitable donations in breach of what applicable law expressly allows. Verify that prominent political figures, or their relatives by blood or marriage in the first degree, are not involved.
- Do not pay bribes as part of a contract payment to public officials or employees of the contracting party.
- Do not use intermediaries, such as subcontracting agents, consultants or any other third party, to conceal payments to public officials, relatives, friends or business associates.
- Ensure that payments made to any EUROPLAST representative are solely compensation for legitimately rendered services.
- All employees, suppliers and/or customers must report any breach of this policy to the EUROPLAST Transparency Mailbox at rh@europlast.com.mx.
- Violations of this policy may result in criminal or civil liability for EUROPLAST and for the employees involved, including arrest and serious sanctions such as dismissal for cause (among other legal proceedings).
As a socially responsible company, EUROPLAST adheres to the guidelines set out in the Inter-American Convention against Corruption and the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
In line with its sustainability strategy, EUROPLAST eliminates corrupt practices in order to act ethically, honestly and responsibly in all of its activities.
